Appleby-in-Westmorland is 3 miles away - a historic town on the banks of the River Eden with St Lawrence's Church and Appleby Castle well worth a visit. Penrith is about 15 miles away, with Ullswater and the North Eastern Lake District just beyond.
We love it here and are sorry we can no longer share our home with you.
We did not advertise through agencies but relied on personal recommendation. Your stay was "in our home". Our small-scale provision ensured high standards of accommodation and personal attention.
Dufton is a Farming Community with an interesting history as a Lead Mining settlement. It is in a breathtakingly beautiful setting, though as in all settlements on the Fellside, you need to be prepared for sudden changes in the weather. For more information, please visit the Dufton Village Hall website, not just to find out what is on in the Village during your stay, but to learn about the history and geology of Dufton and its surroundings.
